About the Show
On stage, in the theatre, where the Other is often placed at a polite distance from the viewers, Michel Schweizer gathers small temporary communities that try to redefine this relationship. In Les Diables, 7 actors from l’Oiseau-Mouche gather to illuminate what life makes us forfeit: the possible displacement of the norm.
Michel Schweizer has always been wary of consensus. To the shallow and small life arrangements that rule over our daily lives, he favours consuming relationships that imply risks, efforts, and that wring out our usual seductive technics. Les Diables issues a kind warning for the audience. The actors’ presence here has a devil-like intensity and you may not be able to look away.
Please note, this show is in French with English subtitles.

About the Company
Compagnie de L’Oiseau-Mouche is based in Roubaix, France. The company was created in 1978 as a professional theatre company and was the first organisation in France to support people with Learning Disabilities to become professional actors.
The high level of commitment of their actors and the quality of their artistic work has created a path for l’Oiseau-Mouche to access mainstream venues and networks that had previously not been available to Learning Disability performers.
The project remains unique in France. The company has no permanent Artistic Director and each creation is the result of a one-of-a-kind encounter between an invited artist and the ensemble. The result is an abundant repertoire with multiple aesthetics and influences. L’OM has created 50 shows, performed over 1,600 times and is supported by the French Ministry of Culture.
